Cryptix Mentors New Startup Talent at WW3M Hackathon in Vienna

Experience matters – particularly if that experience is shared for the benefit of all. Members of the Cryptix team demonstrated that point in Vienna last weekend, mentoring and networking with up-and-coming Web 3 startup talent during the three-day World Web 3 Metaverse Challenge 2023.

From Friday, February 24 to Sunday, February 26, the WW3M Challenge drew teams from across the industry to Vienna’s MyHive complex, allowing participants to showcase their products, pitch ideas and get valuable feedback from experienced professionals.

Among those veterans were Cryptix CIO Armin Reiter and Chief Business Officer Leila Sadok, who hosted several mentoring sessions with participating startups. And on Saturday, February 25 they co-hosted a special workshop teaching attendees how to generate solid new business ideas for the blockchain.

Co-hosted alongside Andrew Saks, Head of Marketing of The People’s SCE, the interactive workshop provided the audience insights on how to successfully pitch and implement business plans for a rapidly expanding – and increasingly crowded – metaverse, plus the latest on decentralization, blockchain and Web3 use cases, and more.

Cryptix also used the opportunity to promote its expanding portfolio, including everything from IT security services to investment platform Equito, which helps companies raise funds, to further its reputation as a one-stop shop for all things blockchain and Web3. It also utilized the hackathon as an opportunity to observe innovators in action, and to see so many great ideas being brought to life. Standout projects included innovations in tokenized real estate, as well as virtual reality applications for continuing education for disadvantaged children, among others.

Like any good networking event, after hours socializing allowed Cryptix representatives to meet with startup personnel and other mentors to further discuss the myriad possibilities of Web3 – and how Cryptix and its clients, like the eCredits Ecosystem, could be the right fit for new projects.

“As a venture building company in the Web3 and blockchain space, it’s important for us to have our ‘fingers on the pulse’ of the times, so to speak, and to collaborate with the right partners,” Armin said. “We’re shaping a future in which blockchain and crypto are part of daily life.”

Leila also lauded the hackathon, noting how serving as a mentor and jury member allowed her to work closely with new innovators.

“It was a great experience,” she said. “It proved how much potential the metaverse has, and how important it is to support those who would use it to develop innovative solutions.”

Organized by Startup Live, and co-hosted by the Digital Assets Association Austria, the hackathon fused workshops and networking and also featured a Somnium Space, a special VR-powered glimpse into the future of the metaverse. The weekend was capped by a special pitch competition and awards ceremony. Startups Dream2Hope VR, Donkey Bridge, and CityConnect Etrit Talla won first, second, and third places, respectively. Leila served as one of the jury members alongside other experts from across the industry, including Bernhard Blaha, CEO of The People’s SCE.

As a pre-acceleration program, the WW3M Challenge is hailed as the first of its kind. And Vienna was just the beginning. Involving more than 50 teams, it will now travel across Europe, Asia, and India, before returning to Vienna in November for its Grand Final, when a final winning project will be named by the jury. The WW3M Challenge’s next session is slated for March 10-12 in Vaduz, Lichtenstein, followed by April 28 to 30 in Dusseldorf, Germany.
